Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was amazing! The York suite had a really cosy feel to it and was beautifully decorated and spacious. After a busy day of site-seeing in York, the quiet location provided me with a blissful night's sleep, followed by a first-class breakfast. The suite included a kitchen, lounge, toilet room, shower room, and a bedroom.
My stay at Marmadukes was a mix of positives and negatives. The attic room I had was quite small with creaky floorboards and an even creakier bed, but I must admit we paid £20 less than another guest. The location was fantastic, close to all the attractions in York, but the room itself felt a bit cramped against the walls.
The hotel had some ups and downs. The rooms were beautiful and clean, but noise from rooms above could be bothersome at times. The service was exceptional and very friendly, although the parking came at a high price. The location was amazing, close to the city center, but the view overlooked neighboring properties. The dining experience had a good selection but was a bit disorganized and slow. Overall, a mix of positive and negative aspects.
The hotel is like a luxurious step back in time with its Edwardian grandeur and period-style furnishing. The rooms are clean and comfortable, boasting lavish decor, but a nice rug to cozy up the space would have been a perfect touch. The service was top-notch, with friendly and professional staff, always going the extra mile. The location is excellent, just a stone's throw away from all the city buzz, making it easy to access all the attractions. The dining experience offered a variety of choices with good quality food, although nothing truly exceptional. Overall, a grand and vintage stay with a few minor touches to make it perfect.
The hotel offers a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms are clean and comfortable, ensuring a pleasant stay with standout features like a wonderful shower. The service more than compensates for any minor issues, with attentive and efficient staff members catering well to guests' needs. The location, just a 10-minute walk from the city center, is excellent for exploring, but the atmosphere may lack warmth for some. The dining experience varies, from small portions but high quality to exceptional English breakfast. In terms of facilities, there are notable offerings for guests to enjoy.
